BIO
Rozalia Szeleczki is an award-winning director and screenwriter from Budapest. She tells personal stories in unconventional or surrealist realms. Her genre-bending feature debut ‘Cat Call’ premiered at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival’s First Feature competition and competed at festivals such as Raindance and Fantaspoa. She studied audiovisual art at Gerrit Rietveld Academy Amsterdam and film direction at University of Theatre and Film Arts Budapest. Her two student shorts, ‘Since She's with Me’ and ‘Mrs. Rozgonyi’ screened at festivals from Porto Femme to Zoom-Zbliżenia, winning eleven awards in total. She has directed cultural tv programs, music videos, commercials and NGO campaigns. Rozalia is a Sarajevo Talents and First Cut Lab alumni, currently developing her second feature length film with the subsidy of FilmJUS Foundation. Her works are marked by compelling visuals and a quirky sense of humour.
